Sugar, sugar and more sugar. Too much if you ask me, but a small price to pay for the fabulous photo opps in every corner of Candytopia! From the candy King Tut to the marshmallow “ball” pit our kids really (no, like REALLY!) loved all the rooms at Candytopia. Filled with candy art, rope swings, a hammock, a surf board and wind machine, confetti spinner, candy, candy and more candy…it’s just plain fun at Candytopia. It’s not cheap…but a good time and loads of great photos make for a nice afternoon activity at Santa Monica Place, in Santa Monica!
Tickets are timed and small groups are let in at a time, maybe 25 people or so. There is a photo opportunity in the first room and staff runs over some rules (you can touch the candy art but you can’t eat it, and please be gentle with it, etc)…from there the group enters the first room, samples the first candy (a Lindt truffle) and they go over the rules again, lol.
The “museum” is a series of themed rooms with candy art exhibits, photo walls/props and a new kind of candy for each room for snacking (some of which were full sized! but I will note most were sugar based candy (not a lot of nuts/dairy) and while you’d have to miss out on one or two, dairy or nut free folks will fare just fine in their bounty!) – and candy lovers (ahem Instagrammers) can spend as much time in each room as desired- BUT- “like in life, we move forward” so you just can’t go backwards.
We attended Candytopia with four families- we had 8 children under age 8…its a super fun group activity and while I didn’t post photos of friends kids we got some really cute ones of all the kiddos! Our group spent about 1 hour and 15 minutes inside. It was suggested that the average time inside was anywhere from 60-90 minutes.

This is so great! Thanks for the info about the allergens! Happy to know they can accommodates for those with nut and dairy allergies! Is this a permanent attraction in Santa Monica?
